The Book Cake Tag

So I’ve never done a book tag before because I’m fairly new to this blogging thing, but this one looked so cute I gad to try it! Hopefully this tag gives you some good book recommendations.

Flour ~ A Book That Is Slow To Start Off But Really Picked Up As You Went Along

Carry On by Rainbow Rowell started off a little slow. I honestly thought I wouldn’t like it in the beginning, but once the action picked up, and the romance really blossomed, I loved every minute of it!

Butter ~ A Book That Has A Rich Plot

Illuminae by Amie Kaufam and Jay Krisstof is a book with non-stop action! I was on the edge of my seat listening to the audiobook, waiting for Kady and Ezra to make it to the bay station and tell their story in one piece. The multimedia format was so unique, and really added to the suspense. It felt like a high stakes action movie that I could not look away from.

Eggs ~ A Book You Thought Would Be Sad But Turned Out To Be Enjoyable

Romancing the Dark in the City of Light by Ann Jacobus seemed like it would be a very sad book, but while it did have it’s emotional moments, I really enjoyed it! It was unlike anything I’ve ever read, so I recommend you check it out if you enjoy reading about romance, self-discovery, and mental illness.

Sugar ~ A Very Sweet Book

Red, White and Royal Blue by Casey McQuistin was a book that I really enjoyed when I read it! I’m sure most of you have heard of it or probably even read it because of all the hype, but it is truly deserved. Alex and henry’s love story is so cute, and while they deal with some pretty heavy things, the story itself was so cute and fluffy (and steamy!)

Chocolate Filling ~ A Character With Hidden Layers

Cardan from The Folk of the Air trilogy has soooo many layers. This series is one of my favories, partly due to Cardan. The series starts with Cardan being really cold to Jude, but as she (and the reader) learn more about his family and upbringing, all the puzzle pieces start to fall together, you get to see the real him: vulnerable.

Baking Time ~ A Book With A Slow-Burn Romance

To Kill A Kingdom by Alexandra Christo had a slow burn romance, but it was so worth the wait! The slow burn romance was so addicting to read, and I really liked their playful banter. Lira and Elian are one of my favorite couples I’ve read about, so if you love enemies to lovers, definitely give it a shot!

Icing ~ A Book That Covers Every Element You Enjoy In A Book

Eliza and Her Monsters by Francisca Zappia was a book I was bound to love! It has discusses fandom culture, had great depression and anxiety representation, and mostly focuses on friendship. It left me a blubbering mess by the end of it. Much like Radio Silence by Alice Oseman (another one of my favorite books), Eliza and Her Monsters will definitely stick with me for a long time.

Sprinkles ~ A Book You Can Turn To For A Pick-Me-Up

When It’s Real by Erin Watt is such a guilty pleasure read for me. Whenever I feel like I’m in a slump, or am just looking for a fast and fun read, I turn to this one. I’m such a sucker for rockstar romances, and this one is my favorite. The progression of Vaughn and Oak’s relationship from enemies to friends to lovers is perfect!
