TTT: Books I Wish I Had Read As a Child

So for this weeks Top Ten Tuesday, hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl, the prompt was to list books you wish you read as a child! Most of these books I have read, but in my teenage years or recently 🙂

  1. Peter Pan by JM Barrie
  2. Anne of Green Gables by LM Montgomery
  3. Little Women by Louisa May Alcott
  4. Percy Jackson series by Rick Riordan
  5. The Golden Compass by Phillip Pullman
  6. Black Beauty by Anne Sewell
  7. A Little Princess by Frances Hodgson Burnett
  8. The Secret Garden by Frances Hodgson Burnett
  9. Heidi by Johanna Spyri
  10. Nevermoor by Jessica Townsend

As you can see, most of the books are children’s classics. I guess I have a newfound appreciation for children’s classics. I didn’t really read much as a kid, but I wish I did read them back then.

  1. I absolutely loved The Secret Garden, A Little Princess, and Heidi when I was young, I feel like they shaped who I am. You’ve got great books on this list. I’ve never read Peter Pan, but always meant to give that a try.

  2. Oh gosh, young me absolutely would’ve LOVED Nevermoor! I mean, adult me loves it, too, but the experience is always a little different when you read things as a child. I try to get any kids I know who like Harry Potter to read it. xD I totally missed out on the whole Percy Jackson thing, too, and I’ll eventually go back and read them, but again, it’s not quite the same!

    Here’s my TTT post.

  3. I never managed to finish Little Women, sadly, but I really enjoy the parts I read whenever I have time! I also read the abridged version of Peter Pan when I was younger, but I have to read the full version, haha. Great list of classics! Thanks for stopping by my blog :).
