Anticipated May 2020 Releases

Hey everyone! So May is usually the month for releases, but with the whole quarantine thing, a bunch a books got pushed back. Nevertheless, I still have some books I’m really excited to read that come out this month!

The Mermaid, the Witch, and the Sea:

I’m a sucker for pirate and mermaid stories, so when I heard about this book last year, I immediately had it on my radar! Also it’s LGBT+ (though I’m not sure specifically what the representation is, as I couldn’t find any reviews saying what s was exactly). Either way, I’m so pumped to read this when it releases May 5th.

Just a Boy and a Girl in a Little Canoe:

So I See London, I See France was one of my favorite books of 2018, and when Sarah Mlynowski announced a sequel, I legit screamed! WHile this one doesn’t look like a travel novel, I’m still so excited to read it! I’ll literally read anything she writes, and this looks right up my alley (I mean, a romance between summer camp counselors! What more could I ask for? :))

For the next three book, I was lucky enough to be chosen to participate in the blog tour, so look out for my posts this month!

The Life and (Medieval) Times of Kate Sweetly:

I’ve never read a book about a medieval restaurant/cafe so that alone has me super pumped for this book! It’s also all about girl power and has awesome feminist themes in addition to a cute and fluffly romance! I’ll be posting all about it on May 8th!

The Henna Wars:

All I know is that this one is a f/f romance, and it’s a forbidden romance. The two girl’s families run rivaling Henna businesses, but they fall in love! How cute is that??! I’ll be posting a guest post featuring the author, Adiba Jaigirdar on May 13th! So stay tuned for that!

And that’s all the releases I’m looking forward to for the month of May! What are some of your most anticipated May releases?

  1. I absolutely adore so many releases that are coming out/came out in May! I think my top 2 are Clap When You Land and The Life and (Medieval) Times of Kate Sweetly. I was also really excited for Chasing Lucky, but since the release date got pushed back to November, I still have more anticipating to do!

  2. I keep seeing The Mermaid, the Witch, and the Sea everywhere and it sounds amazing, it’s definitely on my radar now! Several books I was looking forward to were pushed back as well… I’m excited for the Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes by Suzanne Collins though! It’s a good thing I have many backlist books to get to. ๐Ÿ˜…
