Hey friends! I have some awesome YA romance recommendations all revolving Summer! Whether you’re looking for a European travel novel, or an amazing enemies to lovers story, I’ve got three books that I’m sure you’ll love!
I See London, I See France by Sarah Mlynowski:
Synopsis – Nineteen-year-old Sydney has the perfect summer mapped out. She’s spending the next four and half weeks traveling through Europe with her childhood best friend, Leela. Their plans include Eiffel-Tower selfies, eating cocco gelato, and making out with très hot strangers. Her plans do not include Leela’s cheating ex-boyfriend showing up on the flight to London, falling for the cheating ex-boyfriend’s très hot friend, monitoring her mother’s spiraling mental health via texts, or feeling like the rope in a friendship tug-of-war. As Sydney zigzags through Amsterdam, Switzerland, Italy, and France, she must learn when to hold on, when to keep moving, and when to jump into the Riviera…wearing only her polka-dot underpants.
There’s nothing better than a backpacking trip in Europe full of romance! If you want a love story that is full of cute and montage worthy moments, but also has a deeper side, read I See London, I See France!
I Wanna Be Where You Are by Kristina Forest:
Synopsis – When Chloe Pierce’s mom forbids her to apply for a spot at the dance conservatory of her dreams, she devises a secret plan to drive two hundred miles to the nearest audition. But Chloe hits her first speed bump when her annoying neighbor Eli insists upon hitching a ride, threatening to tell Chloe’s mom if she leaves him and his smelly dog, Geezer, behind. So now Chloe’s chasing her ballet dreams down the east coast—two unwanted (but kinda cute) passengers in her car, butterflies in her stomach, and a really dope playlist on repeat.
This was such a cute and fun read!! If you love books with road trips, and the enemies to lovers trope, I highly recommend I Wanna Be Where You Are!
Meet Me At Midnight by Jessica Pennington:
Synopsis – They have a love-hate relationship with summer. Sidney and Asher should have clicked. Two star swimmers forced to spend their summers on a lake together sounds like the perfect match. But it’s the same every year—in between cookouts and boat rides and family-imposed bonfires, Sidney and Asher spend the dog days of summer finding the ultimate ways to prank each other. And now, after their senior year, they’re determined to make it the most epic summer yet. But their plans are thrown in sudden jeopardy when their feud causes their families to be kicked out of their beloved lake houses. Once in their new accommodations, Sidney expects the prank war to continue as usual. But then she gets a note—Meet me at midnight. And Asher has a proposition for her: join forces for one last summer of epic pranks, against a shared enemy—the woman who kicked them out. Their truce should make things simpler, but six years of tormenting one another isn’t so easy to ignore. Kind of like the undeniable attraction growing between them.
This book is another enemies and lovers story, and boy was it fun! I also liked how it didn’t end when summer ended, but followed the two main characters into college! If you’re looking for a beach read, look no further!
I’d also love your guys’s recommendations for summer reads! If you have a book that has romance, and reminds you of summer let me know! I’m always looking for more of them 🙂
I loved Meet Me at Midnight. I will definitely check out the other two as well!
