Hey friends! This is an exciting post for today because I’ve been a huge fan of Jennifer L. Armentrout ever since the Lux series came out! This is the third book in a spin-off series, so if you haven’t read the previous books, BEWARE OF SPOILERS!

Review:
As I mentioned earlier, I’ve been a fan of JLA since the Lux series, and I’ve read most of her books since. When she announced a spin-off series of the Lux series, I was so excited and to see that it was all about Luc only made more more pumped.
I read the first two books in a sitting each, and this 500-page beast was no exception! I loved that Evie was learning so much about herself and the time she lost to her memories previously. She’s a fun character, lively but also realistically a bit insecure. Her character growth in this book definitely made her more confident and more likeable than The Burning Shadow. The introduction of a new alien-hybrid species was super interesting, and made for an exciting plot. It’s eerily similar to some current events, which kind of spooked me a little, but it only added to the atmosphere of this book.
The shining star was definitely Luc! He’s just so swoon worthy, and even rivals Daemon and Roth as my favorite JLA love interest. His snark, and humor were a good juxtaposition to the more chilling and thrilling tone of the plot. The scenes of Evie and Luc together were sweet and sexy, and I absolutely can’t wait to read more scenes of them together in book 4.
The cliffhanger ending left me desperate for the last book, so beware of that! As usual, I really enjoyed The Brightest Night like i do all her other books, and highly recommend them to people who like romance and plot in good hearty doses.
